General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College, Patiala is one of the premier institutions of the State under the management of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar Sahib. In today's modern era the spread of Liberalisation and Globalisation has given birth to neo-colonization which hegemonize developing countries. In the present scenario the worth of man is related to his materialistic possession. Under such social conditions, all have joined the race to accumulate maximum wealth. This race has distorted the thinking of man. Student life is that phase of life, where the mind is in an impressionable state and can succumb to the temptations of the age. Their vulnerable state poses the threat of them going astray from a virtuous way of living. To protect and safeguard the interests of the youth it is imperative that their spiritual formation is achieved by imbibing the values enshrined in the Sikh tenets, Sikh tradition and Sikh culture.
The SGPC has promulgated its mandate of providing holistic education to its students. The organization is successfully running more than 100 institutions at State and National level. The aim of the mandate is to provide academic excellence with cultural values, moral rectitude, social conscientiousness, professional ethics which would help students to develop social responsiveness at regional as well as global level.
Khalsa College, Patiala plays a vital role in this mandate. The institution amalgamates excellence, innovation, creativity, technology and the spirit of community service to constitute an experiential learning environment for the holistic growth of the personality of the students. To enhance the process of growth the college has also undertaken infrastructural development along with the interface of ultra modern technology and intensive training of the students. The college has also accomplished great feats in the fields of academics, cultural, sports and extra-curricular activities.
With best wishes,
