E-Waste Management Committee
E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their "useful life." Computers, laptops, LED's, copiers, printers and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled.
E-Waste Policy Principles:
The following are the guiding principles of the e-waste policy:
1. Environmental conservation – The Institution endeavours to ensure environmental conservation and protection from the effects of e-waste.
2. Safe disposal – The Institution recognizes the need to dispose e-waste in a manner that is safe and sound with respect to its staff, students, institutional operations and stakeholders.
3. Public awareness – The Institution acknowledges the importance of an informed society in the sustainable management of e-waste.
4. Policy framework – The Institution recognizes the need to establish clear guidelines on e-waste management.
The E-waste management committee shall identify e-waste in the Institution and Ensure that e-waste is collected at the end of every year and kept in an appropriate storage.
