About P.G.Department of Geography

“The study of geography is about more than just memorizing places on a map. It's about understanding the

complexity of our world, appreciating the diversity of cultures that exists across continents. And in the end,

it's about using all that knowledge to help bridge divides and bring people together."   -  Barack Obama

Geography and maps are a fundamental language for understanding the world. They provide a framework for organizing and communicating our knowledge. For this purpose in 2015, GSSDGS Khalsa College, Patiala establishes Geography Department for undergraduate students and now it is running as Post Graduation Department along with Environmental Sciences. The PG Department of Geography & Environmental Science envisions empowering students with knowledge and skills for spatial thinking and analysis to navigate real world problems and contribute to society in meaningful way. Geography asks the big questions—Where? How? Why? What if?—and gives you the perspective to answer them with advanced technology and a solid knowledge of the world in which we all live.
