PG Department of Agriculture, Khalsa College Patiala organized one day educational visit to Sophisticated Instrumentation Centre (SIC), Punjabi University, Patiala for the students of B.Sc Medical Part II and III. The students were made acquainted with Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope (SEM) with Image Analyser, Elemental Analyser for CHN (Thermo Scientific), FT-NMR Cryo-magnet Spectrometer 400 MHz (Bruker), Vertical Gel Electrophoretic instrument,  X-ray Diffractometer (Powder Method) F.T. Infra-Red Spectrophotometer, UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer. Dr. Kanika Aggarwal, Jr. Scientific Assistant interacted with students and provided information regarding the functioning and applications of various instruments viz., PCR, UV Spectophotometer, Lypholizers, Gel Doc, Soxhlet apparatus and Ultracentrifuge. Dr. Anshu Bansal, Technical Assistant told students about quality of research being carried out in the Research Institutes and Universities. The students also put forth various queries regarding molecular research work..

Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college said that such educational visits provide students with practical knowledge to understand Science. Prof. Rajdeep Singh Dhaliwal, Head of the Department said that such visits are very important to motivate students to pursue research during their degree programmes. Dr. Akshita Dhaliwal and Dr. Sukhvir Kaur assisted students during this educational visit.
