B.Sc.Agriculture Part IV and B.Sc.Medical Part III of Khalsa College, Patiala  organised a one day academic visit to Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary. During the visit, students become familiar about the in-situ and ex-situ method of wildlife conservation.

A wide variety of flora and fauna was watched and photographed by the students. This will help the students to prepare photo album of forest ecosystem. It provides information about the various aspects of forest ecosystem and will also enhance their knowledge and importance of wild life conservation. Students also visited Chattbir Zoo (Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park) and learned about the ex-situ conservation of flora and fauna.

Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college, said that such academic visits are very fruitful practically to the students as there is urgent need to study various aspects of wild life conservation. This tour was organised with the motivation of Prof. Rajdeep Singh Dhaliwal, Head of the Post Graduate Department of Agriculture. We also thanked to Mr. Santosh Kumar, Chief Conservator of Forest and Mr. Anil Sood, Superintendent , Paryavaran Bhawan, Chandigarh for kind guidance to arrange the academic visit. The students were accompanied by Prof. Mohinder Lal, Prof. Mandeep Kaur, Prof. Sandeep Singh and Prof. Kamaljeet Kaur during the visit.
