National Science Day was celebrated at Khalsa College, Patiala in which a poster making competition was organized for the students of Department of Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, President, SGPC, Sri Amritsar was the chief guest. Prof. Badungar inspired the students to adopt a scientific outlook in modern era. Our religious philosophy which dates back to 500 years was already based on rationality and logic. Modern science if on the one hand has its pros; it has several cons as well as on the other side which can turn out to be a big threat for the humanity. He further emphasized upon the need towards the proper utilization of science for the conservation of environment.
While talking about nano technology, Sri B.N. Chudasama, Department of material science, Thapar University, Patiala said that this technology can bring about a dynamic change in the lives of human beings. Through nano medicine, even cancer can be cured. He motivated students for making deeper analysis of this technology.
Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the College thanked all the guests and said that science is an important aspect of human life. Various facts can be proved using experiments of science. He also encouraged students to adopt scientific outlook and to pursue research in education.
Dr. Tarlochan Singh Mahajan, Vice Principal, threw light on the relevant of Gurbani in our lives which is a pathfinder as well as a purifier of mind and soul. On this occasion Dr. Kuldeep Singh Batra, Head, Department of Chemistry and Prof. Rajdeep Singh Dhaliwal, Head, Department of Agriculture were also present.
