Khalsa College Patiala organized a function to felicitate Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar on becoming President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar. While emphasizing the significance of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in our lives, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar said that the postulates of Sri Guru Granth Sahib guide us towards the right path. We need to understand, imbibe and follow the teachings of Sikh Gurus. The 'Bani' of the Sikh Gurus inspires us to be steadfast and determined for becoming successful in life. He also talked about the significance of higher education in polishing our mental abilities and capacitating us in doing beneficial things for the society. He also said that SGPC will make consistent efforts in alleviating the status of higher education in educational institutions. He emphasized that progressive steps will be taken to create awareness among the students regarding religion, heritage and culture. There is also a need to strengthen the humanitarian relationship among the people of various institutions. 

                   Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college said that SGPC has got the leadership of an excellent Sikh Scholar and a great social thinker dedicated to the cause of education. He also said that the writing skills of Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar will be instrumental in solving the problems posed by the contemporary social scenario. While praying for the well being of Prof. Badungar, Dr. Ubha said that Prof. Badungar will always be successful in the endeavours taken up by him. 

                   During the function, Kirtan of Ilahi Bani was performed by Dr. Jagjit Singh, Head Department of Music and the students. S. Savinder Singh Sabharwal, member SGPC, Sri Amritsar, S. Nirmal Singh Hariyau, member Interim Committee, SGPC, Sri Amritsar, S. Labh Singh Devinagar, S. Nirdev Singh Aakri, S. Randhir Singh Rakhra, S. Lakhwinder Singh, Dr. Paramveer Singh, Dr. Paramjeet Singh Saroa and other eminent personalities were present on the occasion.

                   S. Indermohan Singh Bajaj, Additional Secretary, College Governing Council while thanking the renowned personalities present there hoped that the college should rapidly climb the ladder of success in the coming future. Prof. Jaspreet Kaur conducted the proceedings.
