Dr.Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal, Khalsa College, Patiala giving information regarding the approval of two new degree courses namely Bachelor of Vocation in Software Development and Bachelor of Vocation in Food Processing and Engineering by U.G.C., New Delhi.
It is a matter of great pride for Khalsa College, Patiala that University Grants Commission, New Delhi has given approval of two new degree courses namely Bachelor of Vocation in Software Development and Bachelor of Vocation in Food Processing and Engineering. These courses will commence in the coming session, 2014-15. The college has been given the grant of 1 Crore and 85 Lacs by U.G.C., New Delhi.
Jathedar Avtar Singh Ji, President, S.G.P.C., Sri Amritsar lauded the stupendous efforts made by the college. He said that such initiative marks the academic progression of any institution. He said that out of the four colleges of Punjabi University, Patiala who have been given approval by U.G.C. to start new professional courses, three colleges are running under the patronage of S.G.P.C.. He expressed his views that there is an urgent need to start such courses which prove to be instrumental in opening new job avenues for the youth.
Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college said that under the guidelines of Ministry of Human Development, U.G.C. has given instructions to various universities of the country to start new professional courses, in order to strengthen the educational system in India. Under the leadership and able guidance of Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala and Dr. Jamsheed Ali Khan, Dean, College Development Council, four colleges of Punjabi University, Patiala have been given approval by U.G.C. to start professional courses.
